April 14, 2014 After a long hard winter (in many places, though here in Wyoming we had a fairly agreeable winter), spring is emerging. As I seem to be solar powered, I am happy for extra daylight hours – more time to spend in my studio.
I am excited to announce a workshop I will be teaching this September. I know it seems early to announce, but I really hope some of you might be able to come to Jackson Hole for it, and now you have plenty of time to plan! It is called Splash and Pour, Watercolor without the Fear. It will be held September 26 – 29 at Turpin Meadow Ranch in the beautiful Buffalo Fork River valley just north east of Jackson Hole. I stayed there in January to cross country ski and enjoy their newly renovated cabins and delicious food and loved it. While there I spoke with owner Nancy Johnstone over a glass of wine in front of the big fireplace, and the idea for the workshop was hatched. I guarantee a great experience – lots of demos, hands on painting and exploring new techniques, or adapting my techniques to your own style. And time available for delicious meals, socializing, sharing, hiking, taking photos of awesome Teton views, and taking in the fall colors of our famous aspens. Non-workshop family and friends are welcome to stay at the ranch as well. Locals from Jackson are welcome to attend also, there is a “day student” option for meals only.
