Alaskan Dream 10"w x 11"h
Hello friends and art lovers,

Paul and I had an incredible trip experiencing southeast Alaska from a small boat eco-cruise - 24 guests total, whom we enjoyed immensely. That in itself made the cruise wonderful (I know, lots of superlatives. Just wait...) BUT in addition, we had 7 days of amazing sunshine, warm temps, and calm seas. Whales, bears, seals, eagles, sea lions, more whales, kayaking, fly fishing and salt water fishing (brought home 3 halibut - yum.) But guess what - the landscapes were so beautiful that of course, you will see more of them as paintings. The one above is just the first. Below is just a glimpse of the landscape. The color of the water is mind boggling...a watercolorist's dream.
IT'S A WRAP!
I am thrilled that Jackson Hole Public Art (a local non-profit) chose my painting, Wild Wyoming Welcome, to be one of several new utility box wraps scattered around town, in prominent places that needed beautification. It's been a goal of mine - seriously!! 🤗
Recently I have been focused on a large commission, 24" x 60". Since the largest shikishi boards that I paint on are 24"h x 20"w, I created a triptych with three of these in a row. I admit it was a challenge. I like to have each panel be a painting unto itself, but each panel is connected to the adjacent panel as well. I am my own worst critic, but I have decided that I really like the result.
